Ron's Sea Salt & Chocolate Chip Cookies

A friend named KariAnn told me about her husband Ron's sea salt & chocolate chip cookie recipe that won the BLUE RIBBON at a holiday party and is eagerly anticipated at cookie exchanges. Imagine my surprise when she agreed to share it with us! I'm not sure if Ron agreed....! Heeeey there, Ron...hehehe hmm ... Thanks for the recipe! These are wonderful.

2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup (1/2 bag) milk chocolate chips
1 cup (1/2 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Sea salt to dust with

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed. Set aside.

In another bowl, beat the butter and both sugars until well blended and creamy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.

Add the flour mixture and mix until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a baking sheet, 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven and leave them on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Sprinkle with sea salt while still warm.

Yields about 3 dozen cookies.
