Lemonade with Frozen Creme de Menthe Bombs

It's not unusual to find my husband standing by the fence visiting with our neighbor in the back or our neighbor to the side. They can stand there and chat forever. Since Houston's summers get pretty darn hot, nothing makes those conversations more pleasant than a nice cool, refreshing drink. Having the Good Cook Dessert Bar Pan full of flavored ice in my freezer is perfect when I'm in a pinch to provide them with something fast.
To make my special lemonade with frozen crème de menthe bombs, I pull out one of my Good Cook Flexible Chopping Mats and chop up fragrant mint and sweet maraschino cherries. The Good Cook Dessert Bar Pan makes nice large frozen cubes, giving me "bombs" of flavor. They are minty-cherry goodness. The Good Cook Mini Spatula is just the right size to help release the bombs from the pan.

You can use your imagination and come up with all kind of flavored bombs for your lemonade or other cool, refreshing, summer drink. This is an adult beverage but can easily be modified for a child friendly drink.

Lemonade with Frozen Creme de Menthe Bombs
by Linda

A pitcher of your favorite lemonade, chilled
1/2 cup of mint leaves
10-ounce jar of maraschino cherries with stems
3/4 cups of creme de menthe (clear)
3 cups ginger ale
A bottle of your favorite vodka

1) Wash mint leaves and pat dry between two paper towels.

2) Roughly chop the mint leaves and divide them between each of the pan's cups.

3) Set aside 12 maraschino cherries, leave stems attached.

4) Remove stems from rest of maraschino cherries, roughly chop and divide them between the pan's cups.

5) Pour 1 Tablespoon of creme de menthe into each of the pan's cups.

6) Pour approximately 1/4 cup of ginger ale into each cup, just to the brim.

7) Place 1 marashino cherry with stem in center of each of the pan's cups.

8) Place pan in the freezer and freeze 3-4 hours, until frozen solid.

9) After 30 minutes, check pan and make sure your cherries stems are standing up, if they are not, gently pull them up.

10) To serve, pour one shot of vodka into a large 24-ounce mason jar or large glass.

11) Pour chilled lemonade into a glass (about 3/4 the way up).

12) Using spatula, gently remove frozen bomb from pan. If you gently pull on the cherry stem, it will pull it up, to help you remove from the pan.

13) Gently slide 1-2 of the frozen creme de menthe bombs into the jar/glass. The more bombs you add, the better the flavor.

Enjoy!
